Terms of Service

1. The Service

Legacy Table is a private, invite-only family app designed to help families preserve recipes, photos, voice notes, and food traditions together. The Service includes mobile apps for iOS and Android and a web companion experience.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to create an account. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf. Family members invited by an account holder use the Service under the supervision of that account holder.

3. Your Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate, current information when creating an account.
• Notify us promptly at support@ubuntu-village.org if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of all recipes, photos, voice notes, comments, and other content you upload to the Service ("Your Content").

You grant Legacy Table a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely as necessary to operate, improve, and provide the Service to you and the family members you invite. This license ends when you delete the content or your account.

You represent that you have the rights to share Your Content and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Upload content that is illegal, harassing, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise objectionable.
• Attempt to access another user's family space without invitation, or interfere with other users' use of the Service.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
• Use the Service to spam, scrape, or send unsolicited communications.
• Bypass or disable any security features of the Service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. Subscriptions and Billing

Legacy Table offers a free tier and optional paid subscription tiers (Heritage Keeper and Legacy Collection). Paid subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to the respective store's terms.

• Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time from your phone's account settings (iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions; Android: Google Play → Subscriptions).
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their refund policies; we do not directly issue refunds for in-app purchases.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate third-party services (for example, App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat, Stripe, Meta, Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service itself — including the Legacy Table name, logos, software, and original content we create — is owned by Ubuntu Markets LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks or brand assets without prior written permission.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time via legacytable.app/delete-account or in the app under Settings.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends; the sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (e.g., intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will survive.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly secure. Recipes, photos, and other content are not a substitute for professional advice (medical, dietary, allergy-related, or otherwise).

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ubuntu Markets LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose or (b) US $50.

12. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect and how we use it.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email and update the Effective Date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
